Isondú Barbacua Yerba Mate, 24 Month Natural Aging (500 g / 1.1 lb)

Fantastic taste, complex and not overbearing. Not an expert, but as someone who tastes morning and night, had been looking forward to getting this based on mates from Isondu. Can't say enough.

Everything I've tried from Isondu has been amazing, including this barbacua. I'm not an experienced taster but I have a few mates now that I can compare this to. I just tried one by Porongo that is less aged than this, and unsmoked. That one tastes relatively green and leafy. In contrast, the barbacua is less sharp, lightly smoky, more fruity, and darker in color. The smoke is not overwhelming. The fruity, biscuity notes remind me of a pastry shop. It's one of the favorites I've tried!
