New Carobella Yerba Mate 500 g (1.1 lbs)

This is a very nice creation. The carob gives it a slight sweetness. There's no bitterness at all. The added caffeine had me feeling good all morning!

An energizing yerba mate blend. The description says it all. Pleasant carob taste. I would recommend.

The carob in this blend is very delicious! It is not an overwhelming flavor that takes over the Mate, instead it dances lovely with the Mate flavors that remain present. This is my first tasting of a smooth & sweet blend, rather than smoky or savory mate. What really drew me in was the initial scent. The bouquet is very enticing; it is rather complex on the nose. Scents of the carob are very present, with almost a pepper scent, blended in with the fruity tones in the fermented mate aroma. The taste is very smooth and sweet., and the drink goes easily through the bombilla. This is not a sweetened mate, so there is no sugar on the tongue (as it should be!) but the flavors do not dip in to bitter territory. The carob is very chocolaty, and is reminiscent of raw cacao nibs. The mate is mostly palos and hoja, with not much polvo in the mix. The added caffeine certainly provides that extra boost for getting things done! However, I could love this blend more if it were left to its natural mate caffeine levels. Together, the flavor profile and bouquet sing a beautiful carob song that I would easily come back for!

Before trying this flavor, I looked at the comments for flavor notes, I saw comments of chocolate/cacao nips flavors in the Mate, so I figured I'll try it for myself. On my first taste, I got a very Paraguayan yerba taste, lightly aged minty-ness without the mentol flavor. I didn't quite get a hint of chocolate on first take, so I let it sit. And in 4 minutes the flavor completely changed, texture emboldened and became notably layered, complex and pronounced, the lightest sip coated the entire palate with rich notes of bitter dark chocolate as if I were drinking mate with 78% cacao chocolate eventually the milky notes of the yerba get to be like milk and sugar, the bread-y notes in the yerba create a taste and aromatics similar to bitter hot chocolate replaced with some slight spicey-ness similar to cloves or cumin. At hour 2 this yerba is still going strong, maintains a good mountain for hours and the size of the yerba holds up while refilling, making getting good flow of yerba easy and the chocolate-y pungent cacao notes have not been covered up by the grassy, yeast-y notes of the yerba but now are tasted at the same strength and compliment each other well. Truly delicious.

This is one my favorites that have come out from the company! Had great mate taste with bitters but this was one I could drink like all day!!
