Oooh! Strong and Long!
I am pretty jazzed by this strength of this yerba. This is my first experience with Rosamonte Traditional. Robust would be the way I would describe the flavor. Earthy, smoky, tangy, strong and long. Very full and rich flavor compared to Taragui for instance, which can blast you with burnt rubber and disappear just as quick.I used a standard gourd type 60% filled. A fair amount of polvo but not too much is in the mixture. Decent amount of stems, too and easy to manage. I went almost 1.5 liters and it was still going strong, though the taste had changed over time. It changed and softened, but not a washed out taste at all. In fact, Rosamonte Seleccin Especial tastes like this latter flavor from the beginning! The Seleccin Especial has no polvo and large leaves, which probably accounts for it's very smooth flavor at the start (along with it's aging process) but this Traditional style knocks the sleep right out of you and gets yer eyes wide open. Yum!
