Traditional Organic Yerba Mate
Traditional Organic Yerba Mate (Smoked With Stems)
Produced in Paraguay for us by Lauro Raaz (Pajarito) with the same process they have used for over 90 years. The yerba mate comes from the field and is flash dried with a secado which is a large tumbler with a wood fire at one end and a fan than blows the super heated air a smoke through it. Then the yerba is moved to rooms that smoke the yerba leaves and stems for several hours. Afterwards the yerba mate is put into storage to age for at least 24 months to soften the flavor.
Our Traditional Organic yerba mate is milled to a large leaf cut (4-5mm) with added stems and no added dust.
